(ND - 20/12/2011) - Hội nghị Ngoại giao lần thứ 27, tổ chức tại Hà Nội từ ngày 12 đến 19-12, diễn ra vào thời điểm quan trọng của đất nước. Sau 25 năm nhân dân ta tiến hành toàn diện công cuộc Ðổi mới và 20 năm thực hiện Cương lĩnh xây dựng đất nước trong thời kỳ quá độ lên CNXH (Cương lĩnh năm 1991) đất nước đã đạt được những thành tựu "to lớn, có ý nghĩa lịch sử cả về đối nội và đối ngoại"(1).

VN diplomats begin important discussions

(VNA) Diplomats are gathering in Hanoi for the 27th diplomatic conference to discuss ways to assist the country's development.

Speaking on the opening day of the conference on Dec. 12, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed the important role of the diplomatic sector and highlighted its past achievements, particularly in expanding relations, including with powerful countries.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung answers questions about Vietnam's sovereignty on the East Sea

(VNA) During the National Assembly session, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung answered deputies’ questions on 25th Nov 2011. While answering questions on national sovereignty from deputies Le Bo Linh from Mekong delta province of An Giang and Dang Ngoc Tung from southeastern province of Dong Nai , PM Dung stated Vietnam must settle and affirm its sovereignty over four issues on the East Sea .

Diplomatic sector does well for national growth

(VNA)  The diplomatic sector in 2009 joined hands with the nation maintaining peace and stability, maximising national aggregated strength, and utilising all opportunities advancing the country towards development and international integration, said a senior government official.

In his review of the diplomatic sector’s performance in 2009, Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem emphasized that the sector contributed to heightening the country’s role, reinforcing its position, and promoting its strength in the international arena.

Defence chief: boost integration but maintain independence

Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh has reaffirmed Vietnam’s external policy of independence along with global integration at the end of his visit to the US and France.

Thanh told Vietnam News Agency (VNA) that the Defence Ministry has established relations with 60 foreign counterparts and has sent attachés to dozens of countries. In return, over 20 countries have opened defence attaché offices in Vietnam.

State President: Vietnam persists with anti-war policy

(VNA) Vietnam follows a consistent policy to protest against war, promote disarmament and preserve peace, State President Nguyen Minh Triet has said at the United Nations Security Council summit in New York on Sept. 24.

The summit, the first for heads of State to discuss the issue of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, is part of the 64th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.
