Vietnam supports cooperation with IAEA



Nov. 7 (VNA) -- Hoang Chi Trung, Counsellor of Viet Nam's Permament Representation at the United Nations on Nov. 6 expressed Viet Nam's support for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in its control and monitoring of the implementation of agreements on the safe use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes in member countries in line with IAEA's safety standards.

Scientists'training in Vietnam-Russia cooperation


Ha Noi, Nov. 6 (VNA) -- Viet Nam wished to boost scientific cooperation with Russia, particularly in personnel training, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem told visiting Russian Vice Minister of Industry, Science and Technology V.A.KniaZhev in Ha Noi today, Nov. 6.

The Deputy PM also appreciated the activities carried out by the two countries' scientific and technical cooperation committee, particularly in the transfer of studies on new materials, bio-technology, physio-technology, and mechanical engineering to Viet Nam.

Vietnam and India Foreign Ministers hold talks


Ha Noi, Nov. 6(VNA) -- Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien held talks in Ha Noi this afternoon, Nov. 6, with his Indian counterpart, Jaswant Singh, who arrived in Ha Noi earlier the day for an official visit made at the invitation of FM Nien.

The two FMs briefed each other of the situation in each country and discussed orientations and measures to boost the two countries' cooperation as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Third round of talks on Vietnam -Cambodia border issue concludes


Ha Noi, Nov. 5 (VNA) -- The third round of negotiations on the border issue between Viet Nam and Cambodia ended in Ha Noi today, Nov. 5, after eight days' sitting.

The Vietnamese delegation to the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Border Affairs was led by Tran Cong Truc, Head of the Government Border Committee, and the Cambodian delegation, by Var Kim Hong, advisor to the Royal Government on Border Affairs.

The two sides reached important consensus on most of the issues raised for discussion.

General Vo Nguyen Giap and foreign veterans



Ha Noi, Nov. 2 (VNA) -- General Vo Nguyen Giap has expressed sincere thanks to members of the Viet Nam Friendship Village International Committee (VFVIC) for their contributions to build friendship villages in Viet Nam.

Vietnam and Cambodia to resolve border issue this year

Vietnam and UN draft resolution on the Korean Peninsula



Nov. 1 (VNA) -- Viet Nam underlines that the adoption of the draft resolution on "Peace, Security and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula" by the United Nations General Assembly is of special significance for the question of peace and security in North East Asia as well as the world over, said Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Chau, Permanent Representative to the UN.

Oct. 27 (VNA) -- Ambassador Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Permanant representative of Viet Nam to United Nations expressed appreciation and satisfaction for the tremendous efforts and valuable contribution made by the Division of Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (the Office of Legal Affairs), other international institutions relating to the question of "Oceans and the Law of the Sea" this year.

Vietnam wants to boost relations with Chile



The Chilean Deputy Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz is on a three-day visit to Viet Nam from Oct. 24, made in futherance of the two foreign ministries' agreement on political consultation. On Oct. 25 he was received by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam.

Deputy PM Nguyen Manh Cam said he considered the visit a new development in the two countries' friendship and cooperation, and expressed his pleasure at the further development of the two countries' relations
