US Helps Preserve Cham Ethnic Culture

A showroom of Cham ethnic artifacts preserved under a project funded by the US Embassy's Fund for Cultural Preservation opened at the Cham Museum in the central city of Da Nang Wednesday.
The US$25,000 project, carried out from July 2005 to March 2006, helped restore documents on the annual Kate Ceremony and preserve costumes and musical instruments at the Cham Museum.

More Room to Grow for Vietnam-US Ties: US diplomat

The US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton has said he is optimistic about the relationship between Vietnam and the US, and the two countries can expand relations to other fields besides trade.
In a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency, Bolton said that apart from commercial ties, there are other ties that the two countries would like to pursue.

The US wanted closer cooperation with Vietnam on the proliferation security initiatives intended to stop the international trafficking of weapons of mass destruction materials, he said.

United States, Vietnam Conclude In Principle Bilateral WTO Accession Agreement

The agreement would be finalised soon, according to a press release issued yesterday by the Vietnamese negotiating team.

The US-Vietnam WTO Coalition has appealed to US businesses and organizations to lobby for Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organization and further improvements in bilateral relations.

Vietnam Airlines Plans Direct Flights To US

Vietnam’s national flag carrier has announced it is preparing for direct flights from Vietnam to the US, which are slated for launch in mid-2007. vietnamair_121_06.gif
The carrier’s first destinations would be Los Angeles and San Francisco, from which there would be flights to other US cities through American Airlines, local Tien Phong newspaper reported.
