More American tourists arrive in Vietnam

Washington, May 22 (VNA) -- Viet Nam has become a prominent destination for U.S. tourists in recent years.

The number of U.S. tourists to Viet Nam reached 230,000 last year, an increase of 58 percent over the number five years ago. These gains were attributed to Viet Nam's open-door policy, beautiful landscapes, unique cultures, and hospitality.

Viet Nam had received about 1 million foreign tourists by mid-May, a 10 percent year-on-year increase. The number of U.S. visitors to Viet Nam increased 2.8 percent in the reviewed period, according to the Viet Nam Tourism Administration.

The country has set a goal of being host to 2.5 million foreign visitors this year.--Enditem
