FM Spokeswoman on new evidence of ruthless of US war in VN


Ha Noi, March 1 (VNA) -- The spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry has described a conversation recorded on a cassette tape between the then U.S. President Richard Nixon and his National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger on April 27, 1972 as providing new evidence of the extreme ruthlessness of a number of warlike people in the then U.S. administration.

The spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh, was answering a question in Ha Noi on Mar. 1 by the Viet Nam News Agency on Viet Nam's reaction to the fact that during the Apr. 27, 1972 talks, Nixon and Kissinger mentioned their intention to drop atomic bombs on North Viet Nam. The piece of information was contained in the cassette tape made public by the National Security Archives on Feb. 28.

Ms.Thanh stressed that the US aggressive war in Viet Nam caused uncountable sufferings and losses to the Vietnamese people and was condemned by the entire conscientious humankind. The tape stands as a new evidence of the extreme ruthlessness of a number of warlike people in the then U.S. administration during the U.S. aggressive war in Viet Nam.--VNA
