Defence Minister receives US Defence University’s leader
(VNA) Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh received Vice Admiral Ann E. Rondeau, President of the American Defence University on April 7 in Hanoi .
At the reception, Minister Thanh said he hopes that the two sides, through exchanges and contacts, will understand each other better and expand cooperation in the coming time.
He agreed that the two sides will continue to foster education cooperation in the future.
Minister expressed his thank for the US’s assistance in providing Viet Nam with scholarships for foreign languages training as well as in mine clearance, searching for soldiers remains and detoxifying Agent Orange/dioxin. He also said Viet Nam was willing to receive US’s naval ship for technical repair.
Ann E. Rondeau said she believes in Viet Nam ’s prospects and pledged to work further promote the effective relations between the two nations.
She hoped that the US and Viet Nam in the coming time will continue to exchange delegations aiming to strengthen the cooperation ties and mutual understanding between the two nations./.
