5 telecommunication projects call for U.S investment
Ha Noi, Dec. 21 (VNA) -- The Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT) has announced its five telecommunication projects needing investment from the U.S. business circle.
The presentation was made during the recent visit to the United States by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his entourage.
These projects include a Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City VINASAT satellite; a North-South optical cable axis using CDMA technology to provide services for 650,000 mobile-phone subscribers, an Internet network for community; the telecommunication industry in Ho Chi Minh City; and a project to develop software industry.
A U.S. company, the Corning Group, has invested USD 4 million in developing Viet Nam's telecommunications.--VNA
