VN advocates maintaining peace, stability in East Sea

(VNA) Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son on June 27 affirmed Vietnam’s stance on the East Sea issue, stressing the country advocates maintaining peace and stability on the East Sea.

Son made the statement in an interview with the press on a meeting between he as the Special Envoy of Vietnam’s high-level leaders and Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo in Beijing on June 25.

Vietnam attends 21st meeting of UNCLOS states parties

(VNA) Vietnam has emphasised the significance and importance of the UNCLOS, a comprehensive international legal order that has been established in the oceans and seas.

The statement was made by Le Luong Minh, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the United Nations, at the 21 st Meeting of States Parties to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in New York from June 13-17.

World’s largest cave in Vietnam to be introduced in 60 countries

(VietNamNet Bridge)  The world’s first 3-dimension scientific reportage is about Vietnam’s Son Doong cave and it will be broadcast in 60 countries on June 25.

The 3D reportage was produced by Japan’s Kyodo Film and will be broadcast on Japan’s NHK World TV in 60 countries, according to officials from Quang Binh province, the home to Son Doong, which is classified as the largest cave in the world.

Vietnam plans more festivals abroad to spur inbound travel

(VietNamNet Bridge ) The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is planning to hold more cultural and tourism festivals in foreign countries like South Korea, Japan, Russia and Norway this year to promote inbound travel.

Nguyen Van Tinh, head of the ministry’s International Cooperation Bureau, told the Daily that along with such festivals, the bureau would arrange familiarization trips for foreign media to look into the country’s tourism potentials.

US senators condemn China’s actions in East Sea

(VNA) Two United States senators on June 13 introduced a resolution condemning the repeated use of force by China in the East Sea on May 26 and June 9 and causing damage to Vietnamese exploration ships operating within Vietnam ’s 200-nautical-mile exclusive economic zone.

Senators Jim Webb and James Inhofe are chair and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee, respectively.
