Agreements on Visa Exemption between Vietnam and some countries


To enhance multi-faceted relations with other countries, at the same time to make favourable conditions for the travelling of their citizens, Vietnam has agreed with a lot of countries on visa exemption on the basis of mutual benefit for their citizens. So far, Vietnam has concluded agreements with some ountries on visa exemption. The main content of the agreements is as follows :

Atomic energy exhibition to open in Hanoi




Nhan Dan Newspaper April 21 - The Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute and the National Centre for Material Information, Science and Technology are to jointly hold an exhibition on applying atomic energy for the purpose of peace in Hanoi from April 25-29.

This will be the first time Vietnamese visitors are able to learn about detailed technology models.

Vietnam to promote e-commerce



Commerce One and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation are discussing a business deal to open up Vietnam's e-commerce market, the Commerce One Vietnam sales manager said on April 18 in Hanoi during an introduction of the 'Scalability Roadshow Asia 2001' programme.

The programme is organised by Microsoft, Intel, Unisys and other IT companies.

Vietnam IT Forum to be hosted in Silicon Valley



Vietnam IT Forum 2001 will be held on May 17 this year at Stanford University, Silicon Valley in the US. The forum will showcase Vietnam's potential for IT development and Vietnam-US co-operation in the industry.

The forum, co-hosted by Connect Vietnam Network, Stanford University and Sun Microsystems, will showcase Vietnam as an emerging market for IT and present an overview of its IT industry and the potential in many areas including software development, outsourcing, telecommunications, foreign direct investment and financing.

Press Communique on 3rd working day of IX Congress



Ha Noi, April 21 (VNA) -- On April 21, 2001, the third working day of the National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Vietnamese and foreign delegates continued presenting speeches and congratulations.
