Press Communique on 3rd working day of IX Congress



Ha Noi, April 21 (VNA) -- On April 21, 2001, the third working day of the National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Vietnamese and foreign delegates continued presenting speeches and congratulations.

The morning session was presided over by Nguyen Van An, Politburo member and Head of the Organizational Commission of the Party Central Committee.

Nine Vietnamese delegates and eight foreigners took the floor.

Foreign speakers included:

- Jose N-Da Silva Casanova, Politburo member of the Portuguese Communist Party Central Committee and Head of the delegation from the Portuguese Communist Party,

- Christian Koberg, permanent member of the German Communist Party Central Committee, Director of the Party Central CommitteeEs Finance and Organization Commission, and Head of the delegation from the German Communist Party,

- Juan Carlo Serra, Politburo member of the Communist Party of Argentina Central Committee and Head of the Communist Party of Argentina,

- Gladstone Nkomfe, member of the Central Committee of the African National Congress (ANC) and Head of the ANC delegation (South Africa),

- Smiso Nkwanyana, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the delegation of the South African Communist Party,

- Renez Telles, member of the National Leadership Board and Head of the delegation of the Sandino National Liberation Front Party of Nicaragua,

- Jose Reinaldo Carvalho, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the delegation of the Communist Party of Brazil, and

- Eduardo Alfonso Linares Rivera, National Council member and Head of the delegation of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front Party of El Salvado.

Within the framework of the Congress, a press conference on Great National Unity, Religion and Ethnic Minorities was held in the morning by Tran Van Dang - General Secretary of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, Le Quang Vinh - Director of the GovernmentEs Religion Committee, and Cu Hoa Van Chairman of the National AssemblyEs Council of Nationalities.
