Strengthening relations with ASEAN embassies in the US is a priority of the Embassy
To promote the relations between ASEAN and US as well as the cooperation among ASEAN embassies in the US, in recent days after presenting his Credentials to President Donald J. Trump on September 17, 2018, Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc met the ASEAN Ambassadors and Chargé d'affaires in Washington D.C.
At the meetings, Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc expressed his deep gratitude to the cooperation of ASEAN embassies in the US for the Embassy of Vietnam, affirmed that strengthening relations with ASEAN embassies in the US is a priority of the Embassy, basing on the traditional friendship cooperation among ASEAN countries.
Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc and ASEAN Ambassadors agreed to cooperate in deepening the ASEAN – US Strategic Partnership, contributed to peace, stability and cooperation in the region. The Ambassadors stressed the importance of US’s support to ASEAN central role in forming regional structure.
During his meeting with Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc, Ambassador of Singapore Ashok Kumar Mirpuri noted that, as the chair country of ASEAN 2018, Singapore appreciated Vietnam’s active role to further promote the ASSEAN’s initiatives, in contribution to building one active, resilient and innovative ASEAN community.
At the meeting with Lao Ambassador Mai Sayavongs, the two Ambassadors highlighted the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between two embassies over the past year. The two sides affirmed their commitment to further efficient cooperation in relations with the host country as well as common activities./.
