Welcome Luncheon of USCC in honor Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc

 

On September 6, 2018, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce organized a welcome luncheon in Washington D.C in honor of H.E Ha Kim Ngoc, the new Ambassador of Viet Nam to the United States.

 

In the luncheon, Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc thanked the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its members in supporting a fair and mutually beneficial Viet Nam-US trade relation, one of the key pillars of the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Ngoc highlighted Viet Nam’s efforts to to become a key partner in such global production and supply chains of international corporations, including US companies. As one of the fastest growing middle-class and retail markets in the region,  with the GDP of 7.08 percent in the first half of this year, Viet Nam continues to drive robust economic integration agenda towards a dynamic economy and an attractive investment destination in ASEAN, and a key part in the regional and global value chains. In that process, with great advantages of high-technology and global networks, US businesses could tap Viet Nam’s investment opportunities in various sectors from agriculture, healthcare, insurance, financing, manufacturing, aviation, renewable energy, infrastructure to information technology, artificial intelligence and digital economy. And as a member of 12 Free Trade Agreements, Viet Nam is willing to be one of the main gates for US businesses and services to have access to other regional markets.

 

The Ambassador emphasized that Viet Nam welcomes more and more US companies to do business and investment in Viet Nam, and encourages launching more initiatives and activities to expand US trade and cooperation with Viet Nam in the coming period. The Embassy of Viet Nam in Washington D.C is willing to closely work with the US Chamber of Commerce and its members in that great effort./.
