Vietnam-US Aviation Working Group
VNA - The first meeting of the Vietnam-US Aviation Cooperation Working Group was held in Hanoi on May 9.
The conference, organised by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam in conjunction with the US Embassy in Hanoi , aims to promote the two countries’ cooperation in the aviation industry, infrastructure development, airport safety and management.
The conference brought together experts on passenger terminals, airport safety, and airport capacity and efficiency from the US Federal Aviation Administration, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, and the private sector.
According to Deputy Minister of Transports and Communications Le Manh Hung, the conference will help promote the development of Vietnam ’s aviation sector and increase flight safety.
US Ambassador to Vietnam David Shear said the US wants to help Vietnam ’s aviation sector in technology and infrastructure development.
According to the US diplomat, the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has invested more than 1 million USD in a pre-feasibility study of the Chu Lai and Da Nang airports, apart from more than 20 million USD to help upgrade Vietnam ’s aviation sector since 2007.-VNA
