VN improving climate for US producers: PM

(VNA) Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed his Government’s pledge to continue to upgrade administrative procedures and infrastructure to facilitate long term business by US companies.
He made the statement at a reception for executives from the American Apparel Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and some major importers on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC on the morning of April 12 local time.

The Vietnamese PM thanked the Association for contributing to increases in Vietnam ’s export of apparel products to the US as this industry has created many jobs for the poor.

He was hopeful that the association would back Vietnam in fighting against trade barriers and by providing “early warnings” about these threats.

Representatives of the US apparel producers and importers affirmed that their groups are eager for long-term investment in Vietnam and want the Government to provide favourable conditions for their imports and exports.

The same day, PM Dung witnessed the signing of a loan deal between the Vietnam Coal and Minerals Industry Group and CitiBank for the bauxite project in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong , and the minutes on long term cooperation between the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group with GE Oil and Gas./
