President commends retiree for helping find soldiers' remains

Ha Noi, July 25 (VNA) - State President Tran Duc Luong has sent a letter of commendation and a gift to Doan Van Liu for helping more than 600 families of soldiers find the remains of their relatives.
Nguyen Quoc Trieu, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee, on Friday presented the letter and gift to Liu at his home on Kham Thien street, Ha Noi.
Liu, a retired servant of the transport and communications sector, has, over the past 10 years, collected information about the graves of fallen combatants in order to help more than 600 families nationwide find the graves of their relatives, who had laid down their lives for the nation's independence.
The Ha Noi People's Committee also presented the capital city's badge to Liu. He received gifts and flowers from many mass organisations and local authorities on this occasion.
