Nearly 6,900 new enterprises set up in HCM City

Ho Chi Minh City, Dec. 3 (VNA) -- An additional 6,883 new enterprises had been established in Ho Chi Minh City by the end of November with a combined registered capital of 11,025 billion VND (720.5 million USD).

The figures showed a year-on-year increase of 11 percent in the number of enterprises and 20 percent in capital.

Of the newly-established enterprises, 1,572 are private enterprises with a total registered capital of 811.6 billion VND; 4,750 are limited liability companies with a combined capital of more than 6,688 billion VND; 13 single-member limited liability companies with a total capital of 24.5 billion VND, and 548 joint-stock companies with a total registered capital of 3,500 billion VND.

Meanwhile, 11,824 other enterprises have registered to add 4,262.9 billion VND (278.6 million USD) to their investment capital.

A number of enterprises have registered to open a further 3,685 branches and representative offices in a bid to expand production and business.

The local planning and investment service has applied information technology to its management work by computerising business registration and connecting it to the internert.

Resultantly, business registration now takes half the time, seven days, compared to the old 14.
In 2001, 6,947 new businesses with a total capital of 9,310 billion VND (620.6 million USD) were established in Ho Chi Minh City under the Enterprise Law, which took effects in 2000.
