Landmine-clearance project in Quang Tri launches website
Quang Tri, Nov. 18 (VNA) -- Information on latest landmine-clearance operations in war-torn central Quang Tri province is available at newly-launched webside of http://www.vietnam-landmines.org.
The information, in English and Vietnamese languages, also covers charity activities on alleviating the plight of war victims in the province.
During the wartime, Quang Tri was the target of U.S. bombings. The quantity of ordnances dumped into the province was much larger than that dropped in the whole Europe during World War II. In this poor, war-torn province, locals are still surrounded by a huge number of unexploided bombs and landmines that threaten their lives although war ended 27 years ago.
