First day of eleventh National Assemble
The first session of the eleventh National Assembly opened at 8.45am at Ba Dinh Hall in Hanoi on July 19 with the participation of 498 newly-elected deputies.
Chairman of the tenth National Assembly Nguyen Van An delivered the opening speech.
The eleventh National Assembly heard: a report on the results of the election of deputies to the eleventh National Assembly presented by NA Chairman Nguyen Van An; a speech by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh on 'Strengthening the role and efficiency of the National Assembly to meet the demands and tasks of building a law-governed socialist state of the people, by the people and for the people'; a report summing up voters' opinions and suggestions to the NA presented by the General Secretary of Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; a report on examining the credentials of deputies to the eleventh NA and other important reports.
