Ha Noi, Apr. 28 (VNA) -- Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has expressed his admiration for Viet Nam's unceasingly improved prestige in the regional and international arena.

PM. Koizumi also highly valued the country's efforts in boosting multi-form cooperation with Japan during his meeting with Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong in Ha Noi on Sunday. He said that a number of Japanese business people have found Viet Nam a trustworthy investment venue, therefore pouring their investment into long-term projects in the country.

President Luong took the occasion to thank the Japanese people and Government for their effective support for and assistance to Viet Nam's national renewal and construction in recent years. "Viet Nam will bolster its national renewal, industrialisation and modernisation," Luong affirmed.

Both host and guest expressed their satisfaction at the recent fruitful development of bilateral relations. They expressed the hope that the visit by the Japanese PM would further take bilateral friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in economics, science and technology, culture, education and other domains to a new height of development, thus meeting the aspiration of the two peoples.

President Luong asked PM Koizumi to convey his invitation to the Emperor and Empress of Japan to pay an official visit to Viet Nam.
