Number of disciplined in Party declined but are more serious

Ha Noi, Feb. 14 (VNA) -- The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee has warned against violating the Party's rules and disciplines in recent years and emphasised the need to increase the inspection of Party organisations at all levels in the coming years.

Violations of the Party rules and disciplines are more serious, especially those of the Party's organisational principles and Statute, although the number of disciplined Party members has dropped by 16 percent over the past five years, said a report presented by the Commission at a two-day national meeting that ended in Ha Noi on Feb. 13.

The report further said the Commission has handled 86 percent of complaints and petitions against violators of the Party's rules and disciplines, making active contributions to the personnel preparations for the Party congresses and the National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels.

Inspection work has helped prevent negative phenomena and wrongdoings in the Party, ensure observance of the Party's disciplines and its unity, and fight against ethical degeneration of a number of Party members in order to keep the Party pure and strong, the report added.

The report also underlined lessons drawn from the Commission's performances over the past five years, laying stress on a regular and direct inspection of Party organisations at all levels according to Article 30 of the Party's Statute.

Addressing the meeting, Party Politburo member Pham The Duyet emphasised the importance of inspection, describing it as a direct task of the Party Committees at all levels in turning to good account the people's right to mastery by complying with the guideline "Let the people know, discuss, do and inspect everything".--VNA
