Vietnam affirmed its support for one China policy

Ha Noi, Jan. 15 (VNA) -- Member of the Standing Board of the Viet Nam Communist Party's (CPV) Political Bureau Pham The Duyet has reaffirmed Viet Nam's support for the Chinese Party and State's principled one-China policy.

Duyet, who is also President of the Presidium of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, reaffirmed the support during a meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Hu Yingdong, in Ha Noi on Jan. 15.

Duyet expressed his pleasure at the fine development of the relations between the communist Parties, States and peoples of Viet Nam and China in the recent past.

He said the two countries had signed bilateral agreements for their land border and the demarcation of boundaries, exclusive economic zones and the continental shelf and fishing cooperation in the Bac Bo (Tonkin) Gulf.

Hu, who began a four-day visit to Viet Nam on Jan. 14, said he hoped the VFF and the CPPCC would continue to broaden their exchange of information and expertise about their work, thus helping develop the China- Viet Nam ties.--VNA
