Better use of Vietnam-China border bridge

Ha Noi, Jan. 15 (VNA) -- The Prime Minister has entrusted the Transport Ministry to strengthen the management of and better exploit a border bridge across the Nam Thi river linking Viet Nam's Lao Cai border area and Hokou area of Yunnan province (China).

The Prime Minister also entrusted relevant ministries, agencies and localities to sign agreements on operation of the border bridge with authorised agencies of China.

The PM's decision is aimed to boost economic exchange between the two border areas.

Viet Nam's Lao Cai province and China's Yunnan province have cut ribbon to put the Ho Kieu border bridge into use. The 138-m long and 14-m wide bridge was jointly designed and built by the Vietnamese and Chinese engineers with funds from the two governments.--VNA
