Record crude oil pumped in Vietnam
Ha Noi, Nov. 27 (VNA) -- The oil and gas industry has over recent days tapped a record of 46,000 tonnes of crude oil and brought ashore nearly five million cubic metres of gas a day, the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Corporation reported.
Oil has been presently pumping from Bach Ho (White Tiger), Rong (Dragon), Dai Hung (Big Bear), Hong Ngoc (Ruby), Rang Dong (Dawn) and Bunga-Kekwa oil fields.
Meanwhile, associated gas has come from the White Tiger oil field to fuel the Ba Ria and Phu My power plants and the Dinh Co liquefied petroleum gas joint venture all in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Viet Nam plans to pump 17 million tonnes of crude oil and bring ashore 1.7 billion cu.m. of associated gas in 2000. It tapped nearly 13 million tonnes in oil equivalent in the first 10 months of this year.--VNA
