DCM Nguyen Tien Minh Visits Charleston, SC.

Deputy Chief of Mission Nguyen Tien Minh paid a working visit to Charleston from Jan. 22nd to 24th, where Minh, accompanied by Trade Counselor Ngo Van Thoan and Economic and Investment Counselor Bui Liem, attended a trade and investment promotion event  - "Vietnam Business Opportunities", organized by South Carolina's World Trade Center.

During the one-day conference, joined by more than 70 local business leaders, the DCM briefed the participants on the economic achievements of Vietnam, Vietnam-US trade and economic relations, Vietnamese government's policies in attracting foreign business and investment. In Q&A section, the Vietnamese guests presented guidance and answered questions about foreign investment laws, regulations as well as other incentives offered to investors. They stressed on a desire  to further promote ties between Vietnam and the state of South Carolina and encouraged the local businesses to come to visit Vietnam and explore business and investment opportunities. 

The Embassy delegation also visited Charleston port and Charleston College, where they talked with the faculties and students on Vietnam and Doi Moi or renovation process.
