Agreement on visa exemption between Vietnam and Malaysia

Oct. 3 -- Viet Nam and Malaysia recently exchanged notes on visa exemption for their citizens.

Vietnamese and Malaysian citizens holding diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports will not need an entry visa to visit the other country for 30 days or less.

Members of resident diplomatic corps and consultates in the other country and their family members bearing diplomatic and official passports are exempted from normal visa requirements throughout their terms of office.

This bilateral visa exemption agreement between the two countries will become effective as of November 25, 2001.

Viet Nam has reached agreement on visa exemption with Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Citizens of these respective countries are allowed to enter Vietnam without visas.
