Feb. 11 (VNA) -- A total of 10 Vietnamese enterprises producing consumer goods and food are to display their products at an exhibition in the U.S. State of Texas.

The enterprises are to export to the U.S. through the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Import-Export Services Company - LST - which has responsibility for administrative procedures for entry of the U.S. market.

It's planned to have the enterprises send their products to the U.S. from now to mid-March.

US NGO Holt helps with child care and flood relief

Ha Noi, Feb. 11(VNA) -- US non-government organization, NGO, Holt International Children Services, will provide about VND 674 million (USD 48,000) to help disadvantaged children in Da Nang this year.

The fundings will be spent in caring for children, especially at the city's orphanages.

Holt International Children Services has been involved with disadvantaged children in Da Nang for serveral years.

Vietnamese Gov't affirms pledge to protect Samoa guest workers

Ha Noi, Feb. 10 (VNA) -- Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh has affirmed the Government's intention to protect the legitimate rights of Vietnamese guest workers with labour-contract difficulties in Samoa.

The Viet Nam Government was doing this by ensuring their security and creating conditions for all to return home, Ms. Thanh told Viet Nam News Agency on Feb. 10.

In this way, they would be able to resume to normal life as soon as possible.--VNA

US Government supports flood management project

Ha Noi, Feb. 10 (VNA) -- The US Government is to grant alsmost USD 1 million to support the on-going Viet Nam Government-United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, Disaster Management System.

The four-year project will draw natural disaster zoning maps to identify flood-prone areas and residential areas in central Quang Binh, Quang Tri,Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces and Da Nang city.

Vietnam returns more American servicemen remains

Ha Noi, Feb. 8 (VNA) -- The remains of four American servicemen listed as missing in action were given to the US Full Accounting Joint Task Force by representatives of the Viet Nam Office Seeking Missing Persons in Ha Noi on Feb. 8.

The remains were found by joint Vietnamese-U.S. teams during the 63th joint search for MIAs from Oct. 30-Nov. 28, 2000 and underwent primary forensic tests in Ha Noi by both U.S. and Vietnamese scientists.

The Coalition for US-VN Trade called to send BTA to Congess

Feb. 3 (VNA) -- The Coalition for US-Viet Nam Trade has called on President George W.Bush to send the US-Viet Nam Trade Agreement to the US Congress for consideration this month, so that it can be ratified as soon as possible.

Vietnam looks to benefits from BTA ratification

Ha Noi, Jan. 20 (VNA) -- Trade export turnover to the U.S. is expected to increase between 30 and 35 percent a year to USD 3 billion by 2005, says Deputy Head of the Trade Ministry's Import-Export Service, Tran Quoc Khanh.

He says a large number of Vietnamese products targetted for the U.S. market will benefit from tariff cuts once the bilateral trade agreement (BTA), which was signed by the two countries in 2000, is ratified.
