Intel Chief Visits Ho Chi Minh City
Intel chairman Craig Barrett, who is in Ho Chi Minh City for the granting of an investment license, on Monday visited teachers and pupils at a secondary school with a gift – five sets of PCs.
The school Nguyen Thi Minh Khai is one of eleven satellite schools in Vietnam to apply the “Intel - Teach to the Future” program undertaken by Ministry of Education and Traning (MoET) and Intel cooperation.
Along with the gift computers came an advice from the Intel chief.
“Computers are just devices. It is the teachers that create wonders in classes. So you should exploit every chance to succeed,” Barrett said at the meeting.
Each year, Intel invests US$100,000 on education initiatives in Vietnam.
Barrett is in HCMC for the official granting of an investment license scheduled for Friday by Ministry of Planning and Investment for the chip giant’s $605 million plant.
