Vietnam - The Hidden Charm: New Tourism Symbol
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has introduced its new official logo and slogan for the 2006-2010 period.
The new logo and slogan, Vietnam - The hidden charm, was created by the Dat Viet Advertising Company. It will replace the present slogan - Welcome to Vietnam - accompanied by a logo of a woman wearing a traditional ao dai (long dress) on the VNAT's publications, products and souvenirs.
VNAT Deputy Chairman Pham Tu said "Vietnam - The hidden charm", which was selected from 1,194 entries, is worthy as it accurately reflects tourism in Vietnam, which has many hidden treasures for visitors to explore.
"The new logo and slogan will highlight the diversity of Vietnam's culture, nature and people, confirming Vietnam as an ideal destination," said Vo Thi Thang, VNAT Chairwoman.

The hospitality industry has in recent years made remarkable contributions to the national budget and has attracted a great sum of foreign investment in Vietnam.
In the past nine months, Vietnam welcomed 2.56 million foreign visitors, a 20.6 percent increase over the same period last year.
