NYSE Welcome Statement to Vietnamese Prime Minister, H.E. Phan Van KHAI
NEW YORK, June 23, 2005 – The New York Stock Exchange is honored to open its doors to the Vietnamese delegation in conjunction with Prime Minister Phan Van KHAI’s official visit to the U.S.
The Prime Minister’s meeting with President Bush and his visits with other U.S. political and business leaders are well complimented by his presence at the Exchange.
“Prime Minister KHAI’s ringing of the Opening Bell recognizes Vietnam’s continuing economic growth and the strengthening relationship between our two nations,” said NYSE CEO John A. Thain. “The Exchange has taken note of the growing strength of Vietnam’s economy, and we look forward to the day when Vietnamese companies will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, in addition to their home market.”
The NYSE regularly welcomes leaders from all corners of the world. Asia is one of the strongest growth regions for new non-U.S. listings, and the Exchange continues to expand and strengthen its relationships in this important region.
