Vietnam-US High-level Consultative Council Debuts
Vietnam on Tuesday announced the establishment of the Vietnam-US High-level Consultative Council to improve the country’s economic competitiveness.
The Council, including 12 Vietnamese and 10 US members, will provide objective and independent consultancy for Vietnam to help the country increase the competitiveness of its economy, according to the Government Office
The council will also propose measures to promote economic relations between Vietnam and the US, particularly to attract more US investment in Vietnam.
Among the council members are CEOs and heads of Boeing, GE Energy, Citigroup, Conoco Phillips, and Vietnamese deputy ministers of finance and investment, local newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong said.
The council will convene bi-annual sessions in Vietnam and the US.
