American veterans visit Vietnam
Ha Noi, June 11 (VNA) -- "The Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) will help the American people better understand about Viet Nam so as to eliminate distortion and actions counter productive to the positive development of Viet Nam-U.S. relations".
So said Lieut. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy, Vice President of the Viet Nam War Veterans Association (VNWVA) to VVMF President Jan Scruggs and his delegation at a recent reception in Ha Noi.
Mr.Thuy praised the VVMF's humanitarian activities in Viet Nam in the recent past and welcomed the delegation's visit as a further contribution to the cooperation between the two governments and peoples.
Mr. Scruggs expressed his delight at Viet Nam's progress, noting in particular the country's developing tourism industry, which has been able to flourish thanks to a stable political environment.
Both host and guest agreed to promote the exchange of visits by the two war veterans associations with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening the two countries' cooperation for mutual benefits.--Enditem
