US Trade and Dev't Agency funds composting project in HCM city

Oct. 30 (VNA) -- The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA) has granted USD 143,918 to Hoc Mon district of Ho Chi Minh City for conducting a feasibility study on the development of an in-vessel composting project.

An agreement to this effect has been signed in Ho Chi Minh City by U.S. Deputy Consul General Sharon White and Chairman of the Hoc Mon People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoe.

The grant will be used for a study to examine the technical and financial requirements of a project using a specialized "in-vessel" system to make compost product from rubbish.

Earlier, TDA had provided USD 83,717 to a similar project in central coastal Da Nang city.--VNA
