VN and U.S discuss ways to boost exports to the U.S market

Ha Noi, Oct. 17 (VNA) -- Vietnamese and American business people have discussed plans to develop Viet Nam's investment and trade infrastructure to meet international standards as part of their joint efforts to make Viet Nam's products more competitive in the U.S. market and build Viet Nam's strategy for its textiles and garment exports to the U.S.

The debate, which took place at the sixth Viet Nam-U.S. business leaders forum held in Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon, Oct.17, also covered the reform of customs procedures to create more favourable conditions for Vietnamese entrepreneurs to promote their exports to the U.S. as well as a plan of tax support for Viet Nam's products to be exported to this market.

Also at the forum, the participants discussed Viet Nam's export strategy in the context of strategic viewpoints of American entrepreneurs on imports.

The forum served as a venue for business people of the two countries to exchange views on the two sides'import-export strategies in order to promote Viet Nam's exports, particularly textiles and garments, to the U.S. market for the benefit of both countries.--VNA
