AFP: What is Vietnam's reaction to Chinese President Jiang Zemin's intention to allow elements of China's private economic sector and capitalists to join the Communist Party?
Answer:
We pay great attention to China's new points of view and theories on socialism and the Communist Party.
The present world is presenting new issues which need to be thoroughly researched in both theoretical and practical aspects. Each party in power should base itself on its practical situation to resolve issues arising from the process of party building.
As the party in power, the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches special importance to Party building, especially preserving its working class nature, persisting in the goal of national independence and socialism, constantly upholding, creatively applying and contributing to developing Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thoughts, combining them with the practical situation of Vietnamese revolution in order to improve leadership and combativity of the Party and successfully complete the cause of building an independent, democratic, prosperous, equitable and advanced Viet Nam.
