Statement by the Vietnamese Embassy on Thuong Nguyen Cuc Foshee case

In response to questions from news agencies relating to the arrest of U.S. citizen Thuong Nguyen Foshee, the spokesman for the Embassy of Vietnam in Washington DC said:

Thuong Nguyen Foshee was arrested and charged with conducting terrorist activities in Vietnam at the order of Nguyen Huu Chanh, head of so called "Revolutionary Government of Free Vietnam", a terrorist group of which Foshee is a member. This group launched bomb attacks at Vietnamese embassies in Manila and Bangkok.
