Tourism Agency to Launch Trans-Central Highlands Tour
A tour of five Central Highland provinces programme will be launched by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to attract a large number of international and domestic tourists.
VNAT is conducting surveys of the five provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong for the "Central Highlands Green Road" tour, designed for visitors seeking adventure in natural surroundings.
Tourists will travel from the central city of Da Nang along Ho Chi Minh Route to Kon Tum province. During the trip, they will pass through a vast range of primeval forests north of the central highlands such as the Chu Mo Ray and Sa Thay, as well as discovering the traditional customs and culture of local ethnics. Tourists can also visit historical relics like Kon Tum prison and old battlefields, which date from the time of resistance wars against French and American invaders.
From Kon Tum, tourists can go by boat to the Yaly hydro-electric power plant in Gia Lai province near a famous tourist site called Bien Ho (Sea of Reservoirs). Here visitors will have a chance to enjoy the food as well as traditional gong festival of the M'nong ethnic minority.
In Lam Dong province, tourists will have a chance to experience natural surroundings. Many well-known sightseeing spots are located in Da Lat city such as Xuan Huong Lake, Love Valley and Hai Mo pine-tree hill.
