Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong was born on 14 April 1944, hometown: Dong Hoi Commune, Dong Anh Ward, Ha Noi. Place of Residence: No. 5 Thien Quang St, Nguyen Du Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. Joined the public service on 5 December 1967. Inducted into the Communist Party of Viet Nam on 19 December 1967.

70 years ago, the Geneva Agreements were signed, thus opening up a new chapter in our people’s struggle for national liberation and reunification. Seven decades later, the lessons learnt during the process of negotiating, signing, and implementing the Agreements still fully retain their values in the building, development, and safeguarding of our Fatherland today.

New Policy On Electronic Visa And Visa Exemption

I/ Viet Nam’s electronic visa (or e-visa, labeled as EV) are now applied for citizens of all countries and territories.

 

On August 14, 2023, the Government of Viet Nam issued Resolution No. 127/NQ-CP  on the application of electronic visas for citizens of countries and territories; international checkpoints allowing foreigners to enter and exit by electronic visas.

 

Accordingly, the Government granted issueing electronic visas to citizens of all countries and territories.

 

This Resolution takes effect from August 15, 2023, replacing Resolution No. 79/NQ-CP dated May 25, 2020 and Resolution No. 60/NQ-CP dated April 27, 2022.

 

The duration of Viet Nam’s electronic visa is lengthened, from maximum of 30 days with single entry, to maximum of 90 days with single or multiple entry(ies).

Appointment Of Honorary Consul Of Viet Nam In Hawaii

On July 18th, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son signed the Decision appointing Mr. Daniel Paul Leaf as Honorary Consul of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc meets Department of States' leaders

Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung on March 23 met with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman at the State Department headquarters in Washington DC. The meeting was also attended by Derek Chollet, foreign policy advisor, and Daniel Kritenbrink, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung to pay courtesy calls to US diplomats and partners

On March 1, 2022, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung paid a virtual courtesy call with Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink, had a phone talk with Representative Joaquin Castro and received former Congressman Ted Yohoo on the commencement of his term. On the same day, Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dzung attended a virtual meeting with the ASEAN Committee in Washington DC (ACW), the National Security Council and the US Department of State to discuss preparations for the US-ASEAN Special Summit
