VN pledges improved conditions for US business

(VNA) The Vietnamese Government will improve investment environment and create favourable conditions for foreign businesses, including those from the US, to operate in the country while strictly implementing commitments reached by the two sides.

The pledge was made by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at a reception in Hanoi on Dec. 8 for a delegation of US businesses in Vietnam and guests who had engaged in the negotiations of the Vietnam-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA), on the occasion of the 10 th anniversary of the signing.

Vietnam vows to effectively use ODA

(VNA) Vietnam will continue completing mechanisms and policies to effectively use official development assistance (ODA) sources and speed up the disbursement of ODA projects.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the affirmation at the Consultative Group (CG) Meeting of international donors, which took place in Hanoi on December 6.

According to the Government leader, Vietnam ’s macro economy has seen positive developments with inflation gradually put under control and consumer price index (CPI) slowing down over recent months.

Vietnam-US dialogue on human rights

(VNA) Vietnam and the US have held discussions on issues of common concern in an open, frank and in-depth manner during their recent human rights dialogue in Washington.
 
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi made this statement in Hanoi on Nov. 25 while answering reporters’ questions on the results of the 16 th Vietnam-US Human Rights Dialogue, which took place on Nov. 9-10.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung answers questions about Vietnam's sovereignty on the East Sea

(VNA) During the National Assembly session, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung answered deputies’ questions on 25th Nov 2011. While answering questions on national sovereignty from deputies Le Bo Linh from Mekong delta province of An Giang and Dang Ngoc Tung from southeastern province of Dong Nai , PM Dung stated Vietnam must settle and affirm its sovereignty over four issues on the East Sea .

National Tourism Year to highlight Hue festival

(VNA) Hue Festival, the annual international event being held for seventh time in the northern central coastal province of Thua Thien-Hue, will be the highlight of Vietnam's National Tourism Year 2012.
 
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and People’s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province on Nov. 23 held a press conference in Hanoi to announce the National Tourism Year 2012 programme and the schedule for Hue Festival.
 
Hue Festival will be held from April 7 to 15, 2012, and be the first major event of the tourism year.
