Vietnam Post And Telecommunications Group Be Established

The Prime Minister, on Jan. 9, issued a Decision on establishing a Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).

The Group, with its headquarters in Ha Noi, was set up from a structural rearrangement of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation, the Interprovincial Telecommunication Company, the International Telecommunication Company and a part of the Financial Post Company.

A State-owned company, the Group takes over the legal rights, duties and interests of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation.

Young Vietnamese Scientist Shines Abroad

A Vietnamese IT graduate working on a doctorate at Stanford University in the US has been selected to present his research at an international conference in Japan in May.

Vu Duy Thuc, 24, will take center stage at AAMAS 2006, the 5th International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, in Hakodate, Japan from May 8-12.

Thuc will present “Learning against Multiple Opponents”, research Thuc carried out together with Dr. Yoav Shoham and Rob Powers at Stanford.

Vietnam A New Tiger Of Tourism In Asia: Tourism Official

HANOI, Dec 12 Asia Pulse - Vietnam could be considered as a new tiger of tourism in Asia, said Xu Jing, a representative of the World Tourism Organisation, on the sidelines of an international forum on poverty reduction through tourism held in Hanoi on Dec. 8-9.

Xu Jing told a Vietnam News Agency reporter that Vietnam is emerging as an attractive destination making great strides and progress in tourism promotion and development.
