Vietnam, US Discuss Web Program To Boost Global Business

Vietnamese and US officials met Monday to discuss the launch of the Global Trade and Investment Management (GTIM) network in Vietnam, easing local business access to the global economy.
The network, a business promotion instrument that will provide information for global trade and investment, will be first launched in the central Vietnam city of Da Nang.

US Ambassador Optimistic About WTO Deal With Vietnam

The US Ambassador to Vietnam has expressed his optimism about the progress expected during the upcoming round of Vietnam-US negotiations on Vietnam’s bid to join the World Trade Organization.
Speaking to the media in Hanoi Thursday, Michael Marine stressed both Vietnam and the United States had narrowed the gap during their previous meeting in January.

Since then negotiators on both sides had maintained close relations and exchanged views on the phone or via email to prepare for the upcoming bilateral negotiation scheduled for March 27, he added.

Investors Discuss Opportunities In Vietnam, WTO Member

Vietnam will conduct a new round of multilateral negotiations for entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Switzerland this month, said the trade ministry Tuesday.

Set for March 19-23 in Geneva, top issues for this 11th round relate to international treaties and state subsidy policies - the most vital discussion in relation to Vietnam’s admission to the WTO, the ministry said.
