Vietnam National Assembly Officials Gain Financial Expertise in the US and Canada

A Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) delegation started Monday a 10-day working visit to the US and Canada to study budget and tariff management, a local newspaper reported.

The visit, led by Chairman of the NA’s Economic and Budget Committee Nguyen Duc Kien, comes under a United Nations Development Program-funded campaign to enhance NA capacity.

During the visit, the contingent will take part in meetings with officials and Committees of the Federal Congress in addition to several working sessions with the American and Canadian departments of trade and finance.

The Vietnamese contingent will also seize the opportunity to call for support on Vietnam’s WTO accession from officials of the neighboring countries.
