For the last several days, the Vietnamese people have been so moved to learn that Hurricane Katrina has heavily damaged Southern States of the United States of America such as Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, causing great losses of lives and property to Americans.
On behalf of Leaders and People of Vietnam, I would like to convey to you, Mr. President and the American People my sincere regards and deepest sympathy. Being suffered from natural disasters from time to time, the Vietnamese people understand that mutual assistance and sympathy help us to overcome all the challenges. We believe that under your leadership, the Americans in devastated areas soon recover from the consequences and return to normal life.
