US attaches important ties to Vietnam

The policy of President Barack Obama’s administration in his second term is to continue attaching importance to boosting relations with Vietnam. 

 
US Secretary of State John Kerry made the remarks at his talks with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh over the phone on February 16. 
 
He also extended his wishes to Vietnamese people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year. 
 
For his part, Minh expressed his hope that Kerry, in his new position, will continue contributing to the development of the Vietnam-US relations, for the interests of the two peoples, and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world over. 
 
The two diplomats also discussed measures to promote the bilateral ties and visit exchanges in 2013.-VNA
