Last Star Wars movie to hit screens in Vietnam

The final Star Wars film, Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, will possibly be released in Vietnam in June, local Tuoi Tre newspaper reported May 18.

The sixth and final installment of the Star Wars saga is due to come out in the U.S. on May 19, and hit screens in the Asian-Pacific region one week later.

The movie will open in cinemas in Vietnam in June, Tuoi Tre said.

Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, starring Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson, will complete a three-movie prequel to the original Star Wars trilogy.

The film chronicles the transformation of heroic Anakin Skywalker into the evil Darth Vader as he travels to a hell-like planet composed of erupting volcanoes and molten lava.

The series, made by U.S. director George Lucas, has generated nearly 3.4 billion USD at the global box office and an estimated 9 billion USD in retail sales since the first installment appeared in 1977.
