UN organisations help vulnerable children

Ha Noi, March 22 (VNA) --
* Consultancy for Disadvantaged Children

The Ha Noi Committee for Child Care has coordinated with the United Nations Children Organisation, UNICEF, to hold a training course on consultancy for disadvantaged children.

About 20 social activists from the committee's branches in precints and districts attended the course, the first of its kind so far.

They were provided with experiences to access to and help street children to avoid sexual abuse, labour abuse and violence, thus overcoming their own difficulties to integrate into the social life.

Ha Noi is taking care for 5,000 orphans, 3,000 handicapped and 1,000 Agent Orange-effected children. The city also faces the increasing migration of rural children who go to Ha Noi to earn livings.
