Lang Co resort opened to tourists

March 26 (VNA) -- The Lang Co resort, in the foothills of the Hai Van Pass, about 50 km south of the ancient city of Hue, was officially opened on March 25.

The owners of the new four-star resort in central Thua Thien-Hue province hope it will encourage tourists to spend more time in the region.

In addition to its 60 guest rooms, the resort, built on four hectares adjacent to the Lang Co's fine beaches, includes sports facilities, swimming pools and a restaurant.

A second section with a water sports area, a number of conference halls, resort villas and 150 guest rooms will be added in the future.

The resort is to form part of a tourism triangle combining facilities in Bach Ma and Canh Duong.

The triangle is part of a scheme aimed at accommodating tourists who would have otherwise passed through the province.

The first stage of the project cost VND 64 billion, about USD 4.4 million.

Fifty percent of the capital required came from the Government's fund for supporting tourism development projects and the remainder from the owner of the resort, the Huong Giang company.--VNA
