Preparation for a Congress of Protestant General Confederation



Oct. 21 (VNA) -- At a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 21 the Government Board for Religious Affairs released a communique on the establishment of a mobilization board in preparation for a congress of the Protestant General Confederation of the Viet Nam Protestant Church in the south.

Present at the ceremony were Le Quang Vinh, Director of
the Government Board for Religious Affairs, Tran Thanh Long, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, Nguyen Ngoc San, Director of the municipal Board for Religious Affairs, Protestant dignitaries and believers from Quang Tri central province southwards.

Empowered by the Prime Minister and in accordance with the wishes of ministers and followers of the Viet Nam Protestant Church, the Government Board for Religious Affairs admitted 25 ministers to the Protestant Church's Mobilization Board.

On this occasion, the Mobilization Board called upon the Protestant community to develop the church's fine traditions, respect national traditions and social life in conformity with policy and law, and bring into full play the principle "for God, for the country, for the nation and the fatherland".
