Vietnam inquires into personnel management in US

Minister of Home Affairs Tran Van Tuan is leading a delegation to the US from May 11-15 to learn about personnel management.
In Washington, the delegation had a working session with senior officials of the Office of Personnel Management, where they heard about workforce planning, performance assessment, position management and descriptions, prohibited personnel practices and merit system principles relating to employees of federal agencies.

US to become Vietnam’s top investor

(VNA) The US will become Vietnam ’s “number one” investor in the next two years, said the President of the US-ASEAN Business Council Matthew P. Daley.
Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on May 13, Daley, who leads a top-level US business delegation during their three-day visit to Vietnam to seek out cooperation opportunities, said that although the global economy is facing many enormous challenges, US companies are still interested in cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam.

Vietnam adheres to human rights, says diplomat

VNA - For Vietnam, the people are both the ultimate objective and driving force of any social and economic development policy, and protecting and promoting human rights are always the Government’s consistent policy, said a senior diplomat.
