EAST-WEST Economic Corridor Week To Start in Vietnam

A Week of East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC is connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar) will be held in Danang City from Aug 27 to Sept 1st, 2007. This is a great event among ASEAN Countries in 2007. The event will create great opportunity for Vietnamese and foreign participants to exchange information and enhance their economic, trade and investment activities in the region. All participants also have a chance to jont a wonderful caravan along the Corridor, from the middle of Vienam through Laos to Thailand.

Vietnam leaders to hold anti-corruption dialogue with donors

The Vietnamese Government is set to hold a dialogue with international aid donors on the country's anti-corruption efforts on May 18.

During the talks, representatives from the country’s anti-corruption agencies, including the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption, the Government Inspection Agency, the Ministry of Public Securities and the People’s Supreme Procuracy, will provide answers to questions from nearly 50 international donors.

Leading US corporations take part in Vietnam business forum

Senior officials of 18 leading US corporations who are visiting Vietnam will participate in a forum on the country’s business opportunities, in Hanoi May 3 and 4.
The 35-strong US delegation is the biggest since the US normalized trade relations with Vietnam and Vietnam’s admission to the World Trade Organization five months ago.

Its members include representatives of Boeing, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, IBM, Time Warner, Abbott, Ford, and General Electric, among others.

Paris Rally Supports Vietnamese Agent Orange Victims

The French Vietnam Dioxin Association (Collectif Vietnam Dioxine) has organized a public rally at Trocadero Square in Paris to garner support for Vietnamese Agent Orange (AO) victims.

The three-hour rally on Sunday was held to mark the International Day of Remembrance for All Victims of Chemical Warfare.

During the meeting, photos of Vietnamese AO victims were distributed to visitors to help them understand the heavy consequences of the US-waged war that many Vietnamese people are still suffering from three decades after it ended.
