Consultancy with Cuban Company for Ho Chi Minh Highway


Ha Noi, Nov. 3 (VNA) -- A supervising consultancy contract for the first phase of the Ho Chi Minh Highway construction project has been signed by the General Directors of the Ho Chi Minh Highway management board and the Cuban Quality Couriers International (QCI) Company.

Under the VND 90 billion (VND 6.4 million) contract, the QCI Company will be responsible for supervising the building of the section from Xuan Mai in the northern province of Ha Tay to Dakpet in Central Highlands province of Kon Tum. This section, which is 985km long, has more than 300 bridges. The project will be carried out within 42 months after the signing date of the contract.

Present at the signing ceremony in Ha Noi this morning, Nov. 3, were Vietnamese Government's special envoy Dong Sy Nguyen and Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications La Ngoc Khue.

Cuban First Deputy Minister of Construction Fidel Figneeroa de la Paz and Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Fredeoman Turro Gonzalez were also on hand
